Dear MOSAIC Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer break surrounded by good friends and family. I would like to welcome our new incoming kindergarten families and new students to the MOSAIC community. We are so happy to have you joining our school family. We hope you and your child enjoy the educational opportunities MOSAIC provides for each student and family.

It has been busy at MOSAIC, beginning on the very first day of summer. Over the course of the past eight weeks, MOSAIC has received new windows, ceilings, and an updated HVAC system throughout the school. These three upgrades will make the building more efficient and comfortable for students and staff. The work is scheduled to be completed by August 2nd. Due to the construction, MOSAIC office staff is working at the Witzel building on the Mehlville High School campus across from MOSAIC. MOSAIC office staff can still be reached at our office phone number at 314-467-7900.

The first day of school, Tuesday, August 13th is just over three weeks away. MOSAIC will host an Open House on Monday, August 12th from 5:30-6:30pm. Students and parents will have the opportunity to meet the teacher, drop off school supplies and see the new upgrades to the building. On Thursday, August 29th from 6pm-7pm, parents are invited to attend MOSAIC’s curriculum night. Parents will have the opportunity to hear from their child’s studio teachers about the learning standards for the grade level, best teaching practices based around personalized learning and the power of Project-Based Learning. Please mark your calendar for these events.  

MOSAIC’s next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 13th at 6pm. An agenda for the meeting will be shared at a later date. We will be selecting a Lead Studio Parent at the August 13th meeting. The selection process will be similar to the PTO Board nomination process. Please email me with your interest in the position by August 1st. Each candidate will be given the opportunity to present for two minutes at the PTO meeting on August 13th. Below are responsibilities of the position.

Lead Room Parent Position Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the PTO treasurer to accept and manage finances related to studio parties 
- Liaison between parents and PTO board and administration 
- Responsible for collecting party receipts to turn over to PTO Treasurer
- Help facilitate meetings to plan parties
- Organize parent signups for parties and/or other events where room parents are needed.

Families will be encouraged to donate $10 per child for three classroom parties during the 2018-2019 school year. Money will be collected at open house on August 13th.  


We are excited to announce that thanks to incredible fundraising efforts in 2018-2019 our PTO was able to donate the following back to our school for educational enrichment programs that all MOSAIC students will benefit from this coming year.

$15,000 donated for school wide studio literacy
$11,750 donated to studio wide project based learning opportunities
$2,000 donated to MOSAIC Outdoor Classroom

Our PTO relies solely on parent volunteers to plan, organize, and execute fundraisers and events for our school community. We would like to welcome all our families to participate and hope you will find an event or fundraiser to assist with this year.

Studio Room Parent Information Meeting Tuesday August 13, 2019 -5:30pm

Interested in being a studio level room parent? Studio Room parents will work with Mrs. Katie Young to plan and execute 3 studio level room parties throughout the school year and help with special events throughout the year such as Teacher Appreciation Week, Kindergarten Celebration and Studio 5 Celebration. We need at least one parent per studio level to step up. If you are interested in serving in this capacity please meet before our first PTO meeting.

PTO Meeting Tuesday August 13, 2019-6:30pm

Please join us for our first general meeting of the year. We are looking for leaders and volunteers for several PTO run events. Find out what’s happening this year and how you can help!

2nd Annual PTO Golf Tournament Saturday September 21, 2019- Registration begins 11:30AM. 1:00pm Shotgun start.

Join us September 21st at Columbia Golf Club. Four person scramble format. Purchase your team today for $300. Includes green fees, drink tickets, BBQ dinner with awards. Cash prize for winning teams.
