Dear MOSAIC Families,

As we continue to evolve as a school community, the MOSAIC staff would like to have your input. Below is a link to a brief survey about your child’s educational experience at MOSAIC. We hope you take the time to complete the survey and share your thoughts about our school. Please know the feedback you provide in the survey is anonymous. Your feedback provides us with important information to guide us in our work to provide the very best for your child. Please fill out the survey by Wednesday, December 19th. Thank you for participating in the survey.

Note from our PBIS Team

A component of the PBIS model is student reflection.  Students at MOSAIC have an opportunity to reflect on the choices that they've made and what they could do next time through the use of Think Sheets.  Think Sheets are not a punishment, but rather a way for students to self-reflect on their actions and the subsequent outcomes so they can begin managing and addressing their own behavior.  The PBIS model encourages students to take ownership of their actions and the outcomes.  Students are given a Think Sheet when they choose to not follow the MOSAIC Mindset- Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Safe.  The staff member will sit down with the student and support the student as they reflect on their actions and the outcomes.  The Think Sheet is then sent home as a form of communication between school and home.  Communication between school and home is an important factor for student success and Think Sheets are just one way the MOSAIC staff con communicate with families regarding their child's day.  If your child does receive a Think Sheet, we encourage you to discuss their choice and the results and what your child could do next time to show the MOSAIC Mindset.  This will help students see the bridge between school and home.  Think Sheets are designed to meet the needs of the students, so may see two different forms- one for the younger grades and one for the older grades.  In addition, the PBIS team tracks the Think Sheet data in order to support student need.  If there is a particular area of the building or time of day that more Think Sheets are given, staff members can provide intervention through coaching, modeling, and practicing with the students.  Thank you for helping to support your child and the PBIS model at MOSAIC.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your teacher.

Spirit Days

Leadership Council will be doing spirit days throughout the year. Here are the months, days, and events:

Hat day

Crazy hair day

We wanted to show an act of kindness in our community.  We chose to make cards for people in nursing homes. We are also going to highlight kindness at MOSAIC by doing a kindness chain in the month of December. The kindness chain is going to be a chain of paper and when a teacher sees you doing something good you will get a link and put it on the chain.
