Use MySchoolBucks to add money to your child’s account for extra items. View lunch menus.

Safety protocols have been put in place to ensure students are safe when eating lunch and breakfast at school. Meals are free for all students through the end of the school year.

Some schools have stations where students can grab breakfast on their way to their first class. Other schools have breakfast carts that School Food and Nutrition Services staff bring from classroom to classroom each morning.

“Kid safety is always our top priority,” said Ana Ford, cafeteria manager at Bierbaum Elementary. “We go to the classrooms, the kids come up one at a time, and we hand them their breakfast.”

All breakfast items are individually wrapped for student safety. Students eat breakfast at the beginning of their first class of the day. Hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies are available for them to sanitize their area after they finish eating.

There are also new safety procedures in place to keep students safe during lunch.

“We have sanitizer for the kids before they come through the lines, markers on the floor for kids to stand six feet apart and shields in-between cashiers and students when they come through the line,” said Jennifer O’Shaughnessy, cafeteria manager at Oakville Middle School.

All lunch items are also individually wrapped. Students have access to hand sanitizer before getting their lunch, and they sit in assigned seats that are marked to allow for social distancing. Our SFNS staff are wearing face coverings and gloves and are changing gloves more frequently than in the past.

Students who prefer to bring their lunch can also pick up free milk, juice and a fruit or vegetable.
